The course also features water hazards and mandos for a complete disc golf experience.
Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences
The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences, located in downtown Rocky Mount, is one of the premier cultural facilities on the eastern seaboard. Occupying the combined former sites of the Imperial Tobacco company and old Braswell Memorial Library in downtown Rocky Mount, the complex houses an Arts Center, Children’s Museum & Science Center, and community performing arts theatre. The 135,000 square foot facility involved the historic restoration and renovation of the old buildings which had been dormant for more than 50 years. Completion of the project spanned two years and resulted in a state-of-the-art facility that preserves the historic aspects of the original buildings.
Paddle & Walking Trails
Near the center of Rocky Mount the Parks & Recreation Department oversees a system of parks, trails, and arts and recreational facilities. The 3.9 mile Tar River Walking/Biking Trail runs along its namesake river from Sunset Park in the west to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in the east. You may also explore the waterways of Rocky Mount on the Tar River Paddle Trail. The trail is comprised of ten canoe and kayak access locations that connect over 20 miles of the Tar River and Stony Creek.
